A user-friendly and customizable local program that brings the essence of Lemmy to your personal device. With a simple installation process and a single click, users can set up their own instance without the need for a domain. This self-contained program delivers a uniquely tailored feed based on individual preferences, where upvotes, downvotes, and interactions directly shape the content that appears. The software would guarantee a personalized and engaging browsing experience, allowing users to curate their own instance and explore topics of interest within a private and controlled environment.

I’ve often wished for a front-end that split the timeline between content types. You’d have a tab for each: micro blogging, long form content, pictures, and video. There is clearly value in separating these content types, but I don’t want to have to sign up on mastodon, writefreely, pixelfed, peertube, et cetera, individually.

It should be both group centered and individual centered, i.e. you can subscribe (and post to) either communities or personal timelines (e.g. Kbin or Friendica).

Nomadic identities would be pretty great too, in case your homeserver shuts down (like Hubzilla I think?).

Also it should come with a modern and sensible user interface (which all of the mentioned software lacks imo – even with skins).

A combination of stuff. Something like lemmy with private servers like matrix over tor or whatever session uses or some other multi node connection system
