A weakness of Lemmy as a platform is that I wasn’t able to see this post until after the server downtime happened.

Kind of shares the same problem I had with Mobilizon in that none of the current instances are in my region, or my language for that matter.
They do have moderators they just care more about PR-washing than actually protecting their trans base. I would stay away from them.
Yeah you should make the jump if not seeing transphobia is your goal. lemmyML is a great omni-instance but as a result you’re going to be exposed to a lot of right-wing bullshit. And really, transphobia on blahj? That’s extremely disappointing but not all that surprising.
hexbear seem really good for trans stuff.
HB and blahj are the two explicitly pro-trans instances. Hexbear is strongly oriented towards communism but I would strongly suggest them over blahj just because of their abysmal handling of c/196’s noncery. They just don’t have as strong of a track record as hexbear.
This is a case where neither party is banned from the instance the post is on, however one user is instance banned from the instance that the other user is currently on. The way it currently works is that the banned user can see and interact with the other user and the rest of the federation can see this interaction, however the other user is completely oblivious to the existence of the banned user.
I just thought of an edge-case, what happens when someone gets instance-banned and then tries to interact with a commenter from that instance? Currently it will post the comment but nobody from that instance will see it. If this isn’t intentional, what would happen?
Worked on notifying users when they’re banned from a community.
Does this also include when you get banned from an instance? Obviously being instance-banned won’t prevent you from commenting on their posts, it just won’t get federated to that instance, but I would still like to know when it happens so it’s not a surprise later on.
I fucking love that guy. If you’re reading this, please never stop reporting.
Does this mean if I block a neoliberal nazi on mastodon it will block them everywhere else too? Awesome.
Alt-texts in posts were sorely lacking so i’m very grateful that it’s an official feature now.
Get gamers involved, they’ve been starving for a replacement to the max-enshitified fandom wikia
Wikipedia got as bad as it did because neoliberals had gotten into positions of power and kicked everyone else out. They weren’t the people who made the site (it was one guy who did like 90% of the articles) but they are the ones who made it the shithole that it is today.
Thank you for being honest, most would deny the existence of the tanks. I’ll get to work on that right away, I wanna drive the tankie tank.
A lot of people say there are a bunch of tankies on Lemmy which really begs the question: Where do you all keep your tanks and can I drive one?
Okay that’s understandable. I’ll be sure to send a DM if any of my comments saying something like “r–e is bad, don’t do it” get barraged.
Added the ability for admins to view votes, to prevent downvote trolling.
Please give individual users the ability to use an automated system to request to see these votes. There’s times where I’ll post something that nobody reasonable should show umbrage to and it will get slammed. I want to find out where they’re coming from and clear house.
What happened to Lbin?
When I saw LemmyMl was down I went to sleep and had a dream where I was eating extremely large fries that that were labeled on the fryholder “Sadistically Large” (chicken fries as well as potato fries) and drinking probiotic shakes so dangerous they literally had to be bundled with a free antibiotic shake by law which of course I took one sip of in front of the clerk to calm them down before guzzling the other shake down with impunity. Woke up before I found find out what the burger was. Maybe those anti-woke types are on to something.
It would be better to be able to pin comms to the top.
